De-escalation Training

Modern society is fraught with violence, conflict, and issues of all kinds. Your ability to safely and effectively identify issues affecting various individuals and populations, and respond accordingly, can change otherwise potentially violent situations into peacefully resolved exchanges.

 Description:
This course offers attendees information on basic interpersonal communications, mental and behavioral health related medical issues, the effects of illicit substances on the human body/brain, active listening techniques, and methods for peacefully resolving potentially critical and/or violent situations.  

 Audience:
Anyone looking to learn how to de-escalate potentially violent/deadly situations; Armed Security Officers;

 Learning Outcomes:
Individuals will gain an understanding on how to handle situations involving individuals with mental/behavioral health and/or drug related issues, and/or those in crisis, and/or hostile and/or violent behavior/actions with de-escalation skills to reduce unnecessary force, gain compliance, and build rapport.
